Wireless Communication: WiFi, Cell Towers and Smart Meters: Does Manmade Microwave Radiation Impact Human Health?

TIME AND PLACE:
12:05 -1:20 pm Friday, March 13, 2015
Get there on time! It may take a bit longer than you think to get there.
I anticipate that Dr. Dart will be the second of the two speakers, then questions and answers.
Downtown Athletic Club (DAC) 999 Willamette St., Eugene (you can use elevator near front door to go to the upstairs ballroom)

City Club welcomes Eugene native Paul Dart, M.D., and Davison Soper, PhD, a physicist, to debate whether proliferating microwave sources can impact health.

Dr. Dart has made presentations to EWEB and legislative committees regarding dangers of increased microwave hazards.
Dr. Soper published a Register-Guard op-ed citing a perceived lack of scientific bases for health concerns.

Community members have expressed concern about increased microwaves.
Debates are emerging concerning cell tower locations especially near schools and bedroom neighborhoods.

Transmissions - from cell towers, phones, wireless digital water, gas and electric meters,
WiFi in schools, homes and some new autos - fall into microwave electromagnetic spectrum bands between radio waves and infrared light.

Does this form of electromagnetic radiation harm biological tissue?

Currently the Federal Communications Commission places limits on local restrictions on cell tower siting.
Should FCC revise older exposure standards in light of new evidence?

Will recent international studies establish groundwork for a more precautionary approach to wireless technology, especially for children and the electro-hyper sensitive?
Is health being sacrificed for convenience? Should communities have more input into the process?

Join us for an extraordinary discussion of the science and biology of human-made microwaves Friday, March 13.

<You do not have to be a City Club member to attend; if not a member, cost is $5 and you get coffee and cookies.
If you want lunch, order online by NOON tomorrow, Thurs. http://www.cityclubofeugene.org/

(City Club membership is $75 for the first year if you want to join.)

City Club records attendance numbers and may then schedule more events like this. I am on the Program Committee.
The program also gets played on KLCC radio the following Monday 6:30 pm 89.7 FM and archived and twice on CTV-29 community access TV.
