From ctm_logan at yahoo.com Thu Feb 8 12:44:33 2018 From: ctm_logan at yahoo.com (Christopher L) Date: Thu, 8 Feb 2018 18:44:33 +0000 (UTC) Subject: [Permatopia] Fwd: Seeking Homestead Partners In-Reply-To: <92BF8FFD-47A2-435D-B62D-F4B1484319BD@oilempire.us> References: <92BF8FFD-47A2-435D-B62D-F4B1484319BD@oilempire.us> Message-ID: <1463569269.600690.1518115473322@mail.yahoo.com> This is a great opportunity for the right person/couple. ? The three-acre place in Astoria is intensively managed as a semi-self-sufficient homestead by two very serious "preppers". ?(They're not into guns.) ? Christopher and Caren have a huge library of how-to and low-tech resources (many on microfilm, and they have a reader). ?The horse poop is religiously composted into A-1 soil, and they keep goats, ducks and other useful critters. ?Grow and thresh their own oats, large veggie garden. ? These are not hedonists, however, and they expect whoever lives with them to make a long-term commitment and stick to it, doing significant chores and residing at the homestead most of the time for years to come. For someone with no place to hunker down, as things get strange, this is a fine chance. ? Not suitable for someone likely to bugger off to Peru next season. ? The assumption made by these people, is that things are not going to get better, and will soon get worse, and producing food onsite and other typical "prepper" activities will be the difference between real hardship and healthy living. ?If you agree, contact Christopher & Caren. ? I've spent a night in the (very nice) space they are offering their new partner. ? It's no hovel, I assure you. ? And Astoria will be an important community, being a port at the mouth of the Columbia, connected by road and water to Portland. ?So if you know someone willing and able to work on a farm, and desiring security for the coming times, this is worth a look. Blessings!c. We are currently looking for for a compatible couple, or a single person, with whom to share our established homestead. With that goal in mind, we recently posted a want ad on the Fellowship for Intentional Community website: https://www.ic.org/advert/shared-homestead-opportunity/ If by chance you know of anyone within your circle of friends who may be interested in this opportunity, please feel free to pass this link on to them. Thanks!
